Collection: Tussar Silk

Tussar silk, also known by many beautiful names like Tasar, Tussah, Tushar, Tasser, Tosor, or Kosa, is a luxurious variety of wild silk with deep roots in the eastern states of India, especially West Bengal, Bihar, and Jharkhand. What makes it truly special is its origin: it's spun by unique silkworms called Antheraea mylitta, who thrive on the leaves of Arjun and Asan trees. Interestingly, every type of silk carries its own story, shaped by the silkworms that spin it and the leaves they feed on, and Tussar silk is no exception.

Tussar silk beautifully captures the untamed, exotic spirit of the wild silkworm that produces it, reflected in its rich texture, natural hues, and distinctive golden sheen. It comes in earthy shades like beige, cream, honey, and tawny, with a raw, organic charm that makes it instantly captivating. While its natural tones are stunning on their own, Tussar silk also takes beautifully to dyes, transforming effortlessly into vibrant, jewel-like colors. Versatile and breathable, it blends wonderfully with cotton, wool, linen, or other silks. What’s more, its unique thermal properties make it a wardrobe favorite, keeping you cool in summer and warm in winter.
